Deletion of attachments is to easy
If you have many attachments especially with similar names, you can delete the wrong attachment by a single click easily. To make sure you will not delete the wrong one a confirmation should be required. A comment like deleting pages would be helpful for traceability.
All this questions "Are you really want to do that?" are really annoying. At the time we have items you can restore the wrongly selected 'attachment' That is part of StorageRefactoring and a soc project. To have the possibility to enter a comment is a good idea. -- ReimarBauer 2007-04-18 20:41:15
With that said, how do you restore a deleted attachment? I couldn't find any help on this with a search of this site. I agree the "Are you really sure you want to do that?" questions are annoying. However, other people are going to come to this site to request this feature, find this page, and wonder how an attachment can be restored (I did anyway). Could you describe the procedure, provide some guidance of some kind to find this feature, or provide a link to another page that does? Is it a future feature or is it available now? -- Matthew 2008-06-18 17:53:21
As of moin <= 1.7, attachments are not revisioned, so there is no undelete. You have to have a backup. But we have a new storage backend in the works which will unify pages and attachments to generic items and all will be revisioned. Don't hold your breath.
