Facilitate adding global smileys
At the Overcards.com Poker Wiki, we've added standard card images as smileys; this makes it very easy for users to enter card images in discussions and examples (see HelpOnCards).
To ensure that these added Smileys show no matter which Theme a user selects, they are added into the base config.py file, but that file is overwritten with each MoinMoin version update. The images themselves are copied into all Theme directories, which is wasteful duplication, but that isn't so bad. Ideally, though, there could be a central location for global smileys.
Not every wiki will have a strong need for card images, but many types of wikis could benefit from this sort of image shorthand.
Better docs, too. . .
Also, I think we badly need a page in the docs clarifying the proper way to modify smiley lists. I have found references to code portions that need to be fixed for the GUI editor to use the smileys, a macro for adding/removing smileys that I have need been able to figure out, etc. Obviously, customizing smiley lists is important for many people; let's give it a little attention in the docs, please!
