Have the ability to ignore some user contributions

I rember that in the Usenet it was possible to filter content. So you could put a subject or a user in a filter and your news reader ignored this content, then. -- ThiloPfennig 2006-12-07 00:29:37

Some people are doing many contributions and not all contributions are interesting. This is mainly a RecentChanges problem. If onw could ignore some changes this would enable one to get a more clear of those changes that really matter. This also could be used on an info page. Maybe one should have a button to display the ignored version data if one would like to view the contributions one time . We then would also dont get email if a user or content is contributing. This user could also be Anonymous.

This could be solved with some mechanisms that we already have:

  1. ACLs: We have this effect if some pages are not readable by acl. We then get a RecentChanges that does not display what we can not read

  2. Despam Action: Here one can select a user which we think does spam - instead of deleting spam this could be used a s an interface for ignoring spam.
  3. Subscribe: The Subscribe/Unsubscribe button enables us to tweak settings. This button procedure could also be used to display the ignored changes. I suggest that this action is addes to action=info and to RecentChanges.

Maybe we should also put a configuration box at UserPreference .

That doesn't sound like a feature for a wiki. -- ReimarBauer 2009-09-06 08:54:33
