Description
Bug?? There is no way to print a page with all its comments included. However there could be use-cases where people also want to include the comment and discussion sections in the printed version of a page..
Steps to reproduce
- Click in the editbar on "Comments" to turn on ("show") inline comments
- Now choose "printview" from the "more actions" menu
- In printview comments are always lost and there is no way to turn them on there, i.e. now way to print them.

Workaround
Don't use action=print to print a page but use directly print or print-preview in the browser's window (I personally consider action=print as vastly depreciated, see MoinMoinBugs/ToggleLineNumbersInPrintPreview..) -- OliverSiemoneit 2007-03-01 19:09:37
Discussion
Can someone please check the method suggested by OliverSiemoneit and close the bug if it works with IE/Mozilla/Opera?
Suggested workaround works fine for Firefox2.0.0.3, Opera9.20 on XP Home Sp2. Of course this does not work with IE7 (same trouble as on MoinMoinBugs/ToggleLineNumbersInPrintPreview): IE completly reloads a page from the scratch when displayed in print preview and does not reload the page as it is currently shown on the screen. Thus all the changes done to a page by javascript (toggle linenumbers, comments...) are lost. Thank you Microsoft! -- OliverSiemoneit 2007-05-05 22:29:01
- works on linux firefox and konqueror too.
Probably this page should be refactored as a FeatureRequest. I do close the bug because it's not our fault that there is a browser which works different. I would prefer a discussion on a FeatureRequest page how we better implement this feature useable for printing with IE. -- ReimarBauer 2007-05-06 14:33:30
