Discussion
that's not really a bug but for non gui users it looks a bit overkill to exchange those all
IMHO, any unwanted modification that results from the "GUI edit cycle" (WIKI to HTML to GUI to HTML to WIKI) should be considered bad and avoided by all means. Just think about scanning all the diffs of long pages to find out the significant changes. Unfortunately the best way to do this seems to be the removal of ambiguous markup, which should not be done as a bugfix and may break existing pages. Thus this should be a target for 1.6 or later and migration must ensure that legacy ambiguities are resolved automatically. -- RobertSeeger 2006-08-24 08:44:37
I agree but in this case if you do want to use the text editor it is terrible to write 6 signs instead of 2. -- ReimarBauer 2006-08-24 09:26:15
In this case it is not "ambiguous markup". See trick on ../GuiEditorReplacesMonospaceMarkupByCodeMarkup which is not possible if you remove one form. I also suggest to discuss on that page and stop the dicussion here since this is the closed duplicate. -- DavidLinke 2006-08-24 09:52:09
