Have mostly been doing evangelism so far. Started a FOSS mini conference within the Institute's Technical Festival last year.
- I've been working on a lot of embedded systems over the last few year, specifically in Robotics. Currently, I'm working on a nanosatellite project in which among other things I'm looking after all of the collaboration and communication within the team of about 70 people, as well as all the technical aspects of writing up documentation. The project wiki is currently restricted, and will probably remain so for a while.
- Other stuff
- I'm interested in working on Mixed Environment collaboration and development systems. Wikis and VCSes currently form the basis of such systems.
Google Summer of Code 2009
My proposal for Google Summer of Code 2009 has been accepted. The Proposal itself can be found at Admin2009/Proposal , while updates can be found at Admin2009.

Some other things I am interested in Moin development can be found at ChintalagiriShashank/StuffToDoInTheDistantFuture.

Why I should be doing this (GSoC)
I've been running Moin for a couple of years now, and have been doing a fair bit of server administration. As someone not formally trained in Computer Science, I see some of the issues that come up with inexperienced server and website admins. I believe that such an interface would allow people to try out moin without too much hassle. I also believe that it will be helpful for a user who has to administer the wiki over time, but does not want to spend much time worrying about actually administering it. Too much time has been wasted by people doing wiki and website administration simply because they are the only ones who can do it, while they could have actually been working on the project (no offense meant, to anyone, here). Most of the ideas presented in this project and the other have been issues that I came across when administering a restricted wiki for about 70 people on a single project, many of whom could not be bothered to learn how to use a wiki. While I have minimal python experience, I do understand programming and know the basics of python, and I am certain I will be able to catch up with the moin codebase by the time GSoC formally starts, if not sooner.
