Colin D Bennett

Hi! I am glad to be using MoinMoin. It's nice to use and I really like its support for reStructuredText markup so that I can have content that is easily rendered as PDF, a wiki page, XHTML, plain text, LaTeX, XML, and more. I'd like to contribute to MoinMoin if I can to enhance the reStructuredText support.

This summer (2008), I am a student in the Google Summer of Code 2008 working on a graphical menu system for GRUB 2, the boot loader used by most Linux distributions. Currently most distros use GRUB 0.9x (known as "GRUB legacy"), but GRUB 2 is a complete rewrite to be cleaner and better. Instead of hacking in graphics support with a bunch of patches as is necessary with GRUB legacy, the new GRUB 2 graphical menu will be a module built in to GRUB 2 itself, and will support a highly customizable themed interface. Users will be able to install new themes or create their own themes for GRUB 2.

Hi Colin,

you're very welcome if you want to improve moin's ReST support - that part of the code is a bit undermaintained yet. :) Maybe have also a look at the moin/1.8-dom-bblank branch, that's where we're heading for the future.
