V českých názvech není použita žádná diakritika. Vzhledem k schopnostem MoinMoin toto ale nemá žádné opodstatnění. Myslím si, že by například HlavniStranka měla být přejmenována na HlavníStránka (tedy kromě toho, že bych ji spíše pojmenoval ÚvodníStránka). Podobně mají některé systémové stránky pro češtinu nepřirozené pořadí slov (pravděpodobně vzniklo doslovným překládání anglických názvů), jako například "NapovedaObsah" - tato stránka by se správně česky měla jmenovat ObsahNápovědy. Má to sice nepříjemný účinek v tom, že pokud stránky seřadím abecedně podle jejich názvu, tak se mi stránky nápovědy nebudou seskupovat dohromady jako v angličtině. Kvůli tomu by se ale podle mého názoru neměl komolit jazyk.
There's no diacritic in the names of the Czech system pages. Considering the MoinMoin's features, there is no good reason for that. For instance, I think that the HlavniStranka page should be renamed to HlavníStránka (besides the fact that I would rather call it ÚvodníStránka ["IntroductionPage"] - "HlavníStránka" means "MainPage" in English; there's no good way translate "FrontPage" directly). Similarily, some of the Czech system pages have unnatural word order (probably as a result of word-to-word translation of English names). For example, consider the "NapovedaObsah" page - this page should by called ObsahNápovědy in Czech (ContentsOfHelp). This would have the unfortunate side effect that when sorted alphabetically by name, the help pages wouldn't groups together as they do in English. That, however, is not a reason to deform the language in my opinion.

Well, I can't really comment on czech language, but maybe the translation maintainer did it to have nice URLs. Moin has no problem with special chars, as it uses utf-8 / unicode, but in URLs, anything non-ascii (and even some chars that are somewhat special in URLs, like blanks) look like %xx and thus a bit ugly. -- ThomasWaldmann 2009-08-29 16:47:53
Ok, let's leave the diacritic be. Would it be OK if changed the word order as I've mentioned unless some objects to it? In English, the word "Help" serves as prefix, or a namespace if you wish, for the help pages. Is it important that help pages in other languages follow this scheme? Also, I've noticed that the 1.9 master wiki doesn't contain lots of updates to the Czech translation that were already made in 1.8. Is it OK if I start "merging" those changes into the 1.9 master wiki? It may involve lots of page renaming and significant changes in SystemPagesInCzechGroup. -- JanMilik 2009-08-29 22:32:52
Having a common prefix would be nice. Because if you look at a list of all pages, the help pages group together that way. Updating master19 is very welcome, especially you might need to migrate the SystemPagesInCzechGroup page to !MoinI18n/cs translation entries.
