Abstract

Make a nicer flyer about moin2.

Note: If the "elevator speeches" task is already done, you can optionally use some of its results.

Details

• Target audience shall be potential (moin2) wiki users.

• See MoinMoin2.0 page, discuss about flyer content with moin devs, work publically on a wiki page for the text content.

• Note that it might be a bit hard to find 100% correct and 100% final content right now, because moin2 is still in development. But if we can get the content half done, we can also fix the rest later.
• Because of that, it is important that you use some open and easy to change document format (like html/css, like svg, like opendocument (libreoffice/openoffice)), so we can change the content as needed later.
• If you use html/css, we could maybe also use it for our wiki front page?
• Show off moin2, esp. the stuff that makes it unique / modern.
• Mention data conversion from 1.9.
• A4 landscape, 3 columns so it can be folded into an envelope. you must assure that it can be printed and folded that way.

Requires: practice with flyer design is required. Knowledge of moin / wikis is helpful. You also should have good written English and enjoy writing stuff.

Document format: nothing proprietary, we need to be able to edit it using free software. svg, html, css, pdf (additionally: for easy printing, not as only format). Other options (only if you really need them): jpeg, png, opendocument/libreoffice/openoffice.

Benefits

It's nice to have for events and to give out to interested parties. Should give a quick overview and make party more interested.

a) .docx is not an acceptable format (see details, item 4) => I've made other formats (an svg, a pdf & a jpeg file also.)

b) as it has text running across all 3 sections, it maybe is not escpecially suited for getting folded 2 times, because the 2 fold are going through the text that is across the page (details, item 8) => Its not at all a problem. I've designed a few brochures before also, and they had no problem. This tri-fold design can accomodate a the text going across it (I've also printed it and checked, no problems.)

c) the red "moinmoin" doesn't fit: colour, font, casing ("MoinMoin") doesn't fit to the rest and to our usual non-corporate identity => Changed.
