Description
Abstract
Find python libraries that can compute / visualize differences between revisions of same mimetype.
Details
We already have:
- text diff (python difflib)
- image diff (PIL, python imaging)
We don't have:
- xml text diff
- html diff
- other diffs - what makes sense?
- how can we compare and visualize differences for other mimetypes (e.g. image, video or audio)?
- what python libraries can we use? under what license are these libs available?
- how does the diff look like?
- is the lib pure python or does it need compilation / binary packages?
Your task is to find a good and makes-sense solution for 1 not-yet-supported mimetype.
deliverables: wiki page with your research results
Benefits
After a successful research we will be able to implement a diff tool. This could be a followup task.
