I'm currently deploying MoinMoin for wiki / content management, and MailMan for email lists. I'm looking at storing the pipermail archive pages as Wiki underlay, or including them somehow. I want these pages to be immutable but visible to MoinMoin's search engine.
At present I plan to:
get pipermail to store its html archived messages in the underlay of the MoinMoin wiki instance, so they will be searchable and linkable as Wiki pages
use the raw HTML parser parser/raw.py with a narrow set of permitted tags (for security)
- This would be interesting for the broader community as well - we are still lacking a safe-HTML parser
- deal with links and indexes (using some kind of page / subpage setup, not sure about this yet)

The underlay directory is not intended to be modified. The sense of having those pages separately is that you can throw them away when doing an upgrade.
- You're right, I shouldn't use the underlay directory. The underlay is a good example of what I want to do though, immutable but still linkable and searchable.

Not searchable, but the virtual pages someone invented (for that patents wiki I think) are kinda cute in a way -- JohannesBerg 2006-04-18 21:08:21
