The page HelpOnUserPreferences states that:
You may self-register and establish your preferences by clicking on the UserPreferences link at the top right corner of every page.
When a user is not logged in, however, the link is called login.

There needs to be more emphasis on the difference between "anonymous users" who have not logged in yet, and "authenticated users". Maybe a page HelpOnLogIn needs to be added?
Also, in the next sentence:
If you have registered and are logged in, your name will be displayed instead of "UserPreferences".
your name will not be displayed instead of, but before (modern theme) or above (sidebar right theme).
