ABC is a simple ascii notation for music that is used by traditional music enthusiasts for exchanging tunes (i.e. Irish fiddle tunes, Scottish bagpipe melodies). The plugin generates a postscript version of the ABC source using abcm2ps, then uses stadard tools to make that into a gif. Also, a midi rendition is generated using abc2midi. The final output shows a graphic of the tune, includes links to the postscript and midi versions, and shows a syntax-highlighted version of the ABC source.
