I found a nice portable version and got it running on an external harddrive with USB connection. My impression is that Moin-Moin is for experienced Wiki-administrators that already know what they want. As a beginner, I am overwhelmed by the vast number of things one *could* do. (2013)
Since the above comment, I have been running pmwiki (both installed and portable) for a personal wiki. I am back here with renewed interest in moinmoin, having just found out it is available at work (can only install software on approved list). (2014)
