I find the concept of Wiki fascinating and I think I will look into if further. However, I do have my doubts about whether this concept can "scale". I do not mean "scale" in the sense of "more users" but in the sense of "more different kinds of users". A site with many reckless passing visitors might not stabilize.

Moreover, I do not think that stability is a bad thing, the opposite of open discourse. The purpose of a website is to deliver content. And I think most people who visit a website are non-involved consumers, people who merely want to find a specific piece of information. If they have to surf around frequent attempts of sabotage they will find that site more annoying than useful. (I know that sabotage is unfrequent at the moment, but it might be frequent on a large "scale" site.)

All-in-all I think that new, open kinds of communication, such as Wiki, are very important and have to be explored further.
