What is

Here, we understand knowledge management as a dynamic corpus of views, processes, techniques and values that tries to take advantage of the knowledge that exists in people and organizations, while hoping to modify the existent and create new ones. This is only a working definition in the Moin context of MetaData, GradientDataInformationKnowledge, FacetedClassificationInMoin and ResourceDescriptionFramework.

Underlying this concept is the idea that knowledge is a powerful means to create value and transform what we perceive as our reality.

If we could leverage a little more power for MetaData and FacetedClassificationInMoin, we could turn Moin into a very powerful tool for knowledge management in organizations.

A short view about knowledge (see The Knowledge-Creating Company: How Japanese Companies Create the Dynamics of Innovation], by Ikujiro Nonaka & Hirotaka Takeuchi, ISBN 0195092694) is that it exists in the individual, team, organization and interorganization levels, and that it could be explicit or implicit (tacit is a more profound level, see Michal Polanyi).
