The problem is not the spliting, but that ThemBase is using different names for some actions, like "Check Spelling" and not "SpellCheck", or "Show Like Pages" and not "Like Pages". The best solution would be to just add the editbar to Classic, and add icons to the edit bar.
Does it scale well if you want to have bigger icons (like we had in starshine)?
- We can put the text bellow the icons if we like to have bigger icons and show [text|icons|both]. But 4-5 simple small icons and we are done. Even with 16px icons and text you have huge target for the mouse and very good usability.
I think the best fix would be to replace the contents of the classic footer with an editbar as it shows in modern, using same gray background. There is no point to maintain special code for classic. -- NirSoffer 2004-12-23 02:12:27
Classic never had translated actions names in 1.2. We will add this feature in the future, probably in 1.3.3, by reusing code from ThemeBase.
