Workaround
The workaround is to never Preview your documents if you don't want to experience data loss.
Discussion
This is a problem if the intent of Preview is to extend the locking period for users. If users don't use Preview, then conflicts can more easily occur when multiple users work on the same page.
I recently observed a similar problem in MoinMoin 1.6.2 but only when using IE and HTTP / SSPI authentication. In my case it seems that there is some sort of IE bug. However, it could be worked around in the Apache configuration by setting KeepAliveTimeout 1 instead of KeepAliveTimeout 15 which is the default value. --JohnCarlson 2008-04-19 01:16:48
Confirmed both problem and workaround offered by John on 1.6.1. 2008-05-20 01:29:48
