When one clicks "preview" one is instantly given the page as if one had clicked "save changes", but the edits are not included! Reproduced with Opera 9.64 on http://master18.moinmo.in/MoinI18n/nb and http://master18.moinmo.in/MoinPagesEditorGroup (long pages), but a short page like http://moinmo.in/Support seems to work. Also, editing this page works as expected.

However, an in-house 1.8.2 wiki did not have these issues at all, even when copying in a long page that did not work from moinmo.in. That wiki is running Apache, CGI, Debian Lenny, MoinMoin 1.8.2 from Debian Unstable (using a single wikiconfig). More info avaliable on request. --JonNordby

I'm using opera 9.27 under linux (ubuntu 8.10) and I could verify (for this page /TestPage) the a click on the "preview" button or "save" button just close the edit window and reload the page, without saving it. if I replace the text with a shorter text then it works... so maybe it's not a problem with the "long pages" more with the "Long content" witch opera cannot send correctly back to moinmoin. don't know for sure.... bye -- MarcelHäfner 2009-04-09 15:26:13

Could someone please test (I just want to know whether it is related to debian/mod-wsgi 2.3, there is a rather fresh mod-wsgi 2.4 [but no .deb yet] that has a fix maybe related to this):

• here with a very short page (few bytes)
• here with a medium sized page (256-8000 bytes)

• here with a long page (>> 8KB)

• on a standalone/wikiserver wiki with a very short page (few bytes)
• on a standalone/wikiserver wiki with a medium sized page (256-8000 bytes)

• on a standalone/wikiserver wiki with a long page (>> 8KB)

Feedbacks

• I just made some test with Opera 9.64 and Windows.
  Results:

  • medium sized page (1220) with Opera are working correctly

  • this /TestPage (long page) it's not working to preview/save a page. Doesn't matter if you use a Opera on Windows or Linux
    btw. longpages also makes some problem with the IEX8, because of some refresh after every keystroke... but I will add another bugreport about this.

  • I made a copy only my own wiki http://wikiwiki.ch/MoinMoinBugs/OperaAndLongPages and there everything was working as expected (saving and preview works fine). My server is running "Apache/2.0.52 (Red Hat) mod_wsgi/2.0 Python/2.5 configured" and running MoinMoin 1.8.2. So it's maybe related to mod-wsgi.

• On opera 10.01 and fedora 11 mod_wsgi v1.3, I had the same problem, whether hitting preview or save. I installed mod_wsgi 2.5-2 from fedora 12 and that fixed the problems.

• Status: looks like it was caused due to a problem with mod_wsgi 2.3 and opera (mod_wsgi 2.4 release lists some problem with keepalives and specific content lengths). A fix for debian lenny was getting the mod_wsgi 2.4 from sid/unstable and install it with dpkg -i (dependencies are satisfied and it obviously also works on lenny).
