Description

If I do a test starting wikiserver.py and browse localhost:8080 (the default), then the wiki does not work properly, or more precise the following pages do not work:

• RecentChanges

• FindPage

• HelpContents

Steps to reproduce

1. I unpack moin-1.9.1.tar.gz on kubuntu linux 9.10 32 bit with python 2.6.4
2. I start wikiserver.py
3. I browse localhost:8080
4. If I click on

   • RecentChanges

   • FindPage

   • HelpContents I am always asked if I want to create a page, these pages are missing

If I test moin-1.8.5, then all works fine... strange moinmoin is unusable in standalone mode actually.

Workaround

Read docs/CHANGES, visit page LanguageSetup in your wiki.

• In short:

• Define a  superuser  in the the wikiconfig.py and restart moinmoin

  • Example:  wikiconfig.py 

        superuser = [u"WikiAdmin", ] 

• Create via the wiki login page an account named WikiAdmin

• Install your language package as described in the LanguageSetup Page

Note: In case you get still a page is missing I solved it be CREATING and then DELETING the page.

May be we should output the "/!\ Read docs/CHANGES, visit page LanguageSetup in your wiki. /!\" by page_header1.

I changed the quickinstallation docs to point at first page to LanguageSetup. Because of silly browser autocompletion of links you can miss the default homepage. If you get RecentChanges in the list you may select this and won't see the hints on LanguageSetup. -- ReimarBauer 2010-01-27 08:00:39
