2015-05-05T21:05:27 <bond007_> The current basic theme is implemented by using less. I suppose the implementation of Bootstrap in modernized theme should also be done using Less?

2015-05-05T21:14:27 <RogerHaase> bond007_: imho the fewer CSS preprocessors, the better. So moving from Stylus to Less is good. I would even consider vanilla CSS, but others probably have different opinions
2015-05-05T21:14:50 *** dave_largo
2015-05-05T21:22:22 <RogerHaase> bond007_: there is hope here: http://dev.w3.org/csswg/css-variables/ but then then there is reality: http://caniuse.com/#feat=css-variables
2015-05-05T21:28:00 <bond007_> Yea , browser compatibility of css variables isn't good. But using vanilla css may cause future problems while modifying the themes.
2015-05-05T21:51:46 <bond007_> Maybe customizing bootstrap with less will be easier (for modifying) .Bootstrap has organized all the specific Less files (example nav.less , forms.less contains everything to do with navigation bar , forms ). Thus when we have to edit something we know which file we will start with without having to search through 5000 lines of code.( as in css file).
2015-05-05T21:52:23 <bond007_> ?
2015-05-05T22:03:54 <RogerHaase> bond007_: the direction I was moving in was to have theme style header, footer, sidebar. Everything in #moin-content was to have pure css. Theme css gets loaded after common CSS so a theme could override the common CSS if desired (but if embedded themes have a common color scheme, there is little reson to override)
2015-05-05T22:06:18 <RogerHaase> (I thought your original comment was about using bootstrap with Sass instead of Less)
