Archived Feedback from my Comments and Questions
Q: Can I place an internal action (eg EditText) in the content of a page, and if so how?
A: Simon/FeedBack?action=edit (not recommended)
Q: Supplementary: How do I do this without the link icon?
A: ?
Q: There seem to be a number of MoinMoin wikis, am I using the right one?
A: The right one is subjective, see MoinMoinWikis for a list.
Q: Trying to use macro/HTML.py, copied it into my macro directory (where the BR macro is - that seemed safe), put "[[" in column 1, but no go - see example below ? Can anyone assist with some Macro installation instructions, or have I just put it in the wrong directory or need to do some further step? HTML(<b>test</b>)
A: Install in the directory described in "What I Know". Also ensure syntax is correct, viz [[HTML()]], ie [[]] signifies a macro.
Q: What is an easy way to remove the sequence numbers shown in macro and parser listings? Or can we have a downloadable version too? See also http://aspn.activestate.com/ASPN/Mail/Message/wxPython-users/1303278
A: fixed I believe
Q: Looking for a reason why my DIFFs don't work under windows. Do I need to find a DIFF utility for windows and download it?
A: Yes - or wait until my difflib stuff gets merged. -- ThomasWaldmann 2002-07-31 04:01:24 -- sounds good
Q: Why don't WikiNames work in Headings? viz
===== WikiName =====
A: Because headings are not supposed to. Footnotes is another story. -- OK, I guess I was expecting it because it works OK in UseMod
Maybe you wanna use a WikiName like FirstnameLastname for your homepage. This has quite some advantages like clickable signs (just sign using @SIG@) and RecentChanges entries. It would also differentiate you from the 100 other Simons from New Zealand.
Regarding migration: Maybe someone did some python or perl scripts to handle the minor markup differences? If not, maybe someone should. -- ThomasWaldmann 2002-07-20 09:06:45
Yeah thanks. I did think about my moniker, but decided that the KISS and FIBD principles apply. It seems to work fine from RecentChanges and I can cope with having to enter ["Simon"].
BTW: you are using too much BR, that looks bad. And HTML is bad anyway (security, clearness etc.), so think it over. -- ThomasWaldmann 2002-08-09 15:30:39
