Design
We know that moin could look prettier, but most of our developers are coders, not artists.
Also, not every theme on ThemeMarket that looks nice, is issue free. Or of good usability.
Password checking
We use some built-in check (have to lookup the details), but also some external library, if it is installed.
Sure we could add some notes about. Not sure if they could be brief or if it would help much.
The general rule for having no problems with the checker is to try a password that can be considered safe.
Unsafe examples (and reasons):
- secret (common, dictionary word)
- 1234 (too short, kbd sequence)
- asdfghjk (kbd sequence)
- aaaaaaaaaaa (not enough different letters)
TextCHAs
The TextCHAs asked on this wiki here should be solveable if you have read MoinMoinWiki (this is the first and most basic page you see when visiting this site).
They are configurable, so even if some are too hard, we can just change the site's wikiconfig.
BTW, I recently added the textchas_disable_group - every use in this group won't get textchas. So if you are doing many edits, just make sure you get into this group.
WikiSandBox
Just look at the info action there to see that you don't want all these edits on the normal content pages.
GUI vs. Text editor
This is a matter of taste and of experience:
- Experienced users usually use the text editor because for THEM it is faster and easier (and has less bugs).
- Beginners like the GUI editor, because for THEM it is faster and easier.
This is why we have both.
