Essential
MoinMoin 1.1 will definitely contain the following features (in addition to those already implemented for 1.1, see the CHANGES file in CVS):
Fix CVS sync the master wiki with the manual side-band commits
add HelpOnUpdating as HTML file
Fix for security bug found by a moin user by a big hint in the docs.
moin/wiki/data/text/WikiHomepage - fix the case problem? - fixed in MoinMaster (not in CVS yet)
Add coding directives to all the source
Classic login procedure (name/pwd) and support for Apache-style Basic authentication (via AUTH_TYPE and REMOTE_USER)
Most moved to /PasswordAuth
Migration tool to check for exiting duplicate accounts, and accounts that violate the name rule
see MoinMoin/scripts/moin_checkuser.py
duplicate checks should only be done with ACL activated (==> ThomasWaldmann)
- currently done like that, but that invites users creating duplicate accounts, leading to problems like we have now
remove unreadable pages from OrphanedPages (and also remove all */MoinEditorBackup)
MoinMaster: HelpOnUpdating#update-1-1
Translation: de
give ThomasWaldmann access rights (SF) so that he can do a release.
SF Homepage should IMHO do a http redirect to a page on the MoinMoin wiki, so it can easily by updated and users find other wiki pages more easily (I recently got a mail from a user telling me that the wiki should take a more prominent place on the homepage). We can link back to SF if necessary.
This wiki's FrontPage needs to be reorganized then. There is no download link anywhere. The SF page is at least clear and organized, has screen shots, etc. The default MoinMoin page needs to include a download link too, and maybe, uh, a description of MoinMoin. See NewFrontPage. Must be moved to FrontPage ASAP.
What about using ACLs and making FrontPage editable for Known users?
JürgenHermann, please remove write protection of FrontPage.
- We could also put up releases here for download instead of SF - we could use an ACL protected page for that. Of course we should ask the people paying the traffic first.
See MoinMoinTodo/Release 1.2 for plans for the next release.
