Hi,
I want to know if it's possible to "hide" a Category. The thought behind this question is, that the underlay Category is always opened when I refresh my Wiki. How can I hide this Category or close it? Thanks in advance.
Hiding folders is not possible exept by the method described in ../HowToExcludePagesFromExplorerTree which makes it impossible for the users to access them any more. What do you exactly mean by "when I refresh my Wiki"? Anyway, hiding a category to workaround a bug doesn't seem a good solution to me. You should be able to close the "underlay" category like any other - it is not treated in a special way. It is saved to a cookie which of the categories are opened. You may try to delete the cookie of the site and log in again. Does this resolve your problem? -- WolfgangFischer 2008-09-27 08:17:45
With "refresh" the page, I mean clicking the HOME-Button. When I do that, the folder undlerlay opens and I don't know why. Does anyone else have this problem, too? -- 2008-09-27 15:41:39
I see. This is probably because you are using the "original" unmodified home page that comes with Moin. The Explorer theme automatically expands the categories and parent pages of the current page (to help you see "where" you are in the wiki tree). If the current page is an underlay page (like the unmodified FrontPage), than the underlay category is expanded and the page is selected. If this is the case you can either create an own front page or modify the existing one. Maybe by adding it to the root category. This will dispaly the home page at the root level of the wiki tree giving it a coresponding position. Please confirm if this resolves your problem. -- WolfgangFischer 2008-09-30 05:50:15
Thank you very much! That's the problem! Now it's solved. I just added the StartSeite to the CategoryRoot. Thanks again!!
I also have the problem, that the underlay folder always expands, when I select another page in my root tree. Even giving the underlay page the category CategoryRoot did not help.
My moin installation is version 1.9.1 and I have patched explorer.py as described in my bug report (Moin-1.9-Error).
I made several test installations, and sometimes it is OK, but most of the time that unwanted expanding will happen, see http://rudiswiki.homelinux.org:8080/rudiswiki9/StartSeite . I love this explorer, but for me it is annoying that always other folders expand. I have searched in the source code, but did not found the spot, where to apply changes.

Solution: Delete the cookies in your browser of your moin wiki host address -- RudolfReuter 2010-01-28 18:37
