General layout & concepts
This is the preview of a theme which is currently developed by EduardoMercovich and OliverSiemoneit (inofficial name of this new theme is "tango" for some reasons 
). The theme is based on modern theme and enhanced through a lot of accessibility extension like already done in ThemeMarket/SimpleMente.
Color variations
These color variations will come in the theme and change only the palette (also a sub group of the Tango Project, http://tango.freedesktop.org/) and require only to comment/uncomment a few lines in the screen.css file. Of course, you can also create/use your own palette also editing the same few lines.

Doing a theme is always a lot of work. Especially doing something new and merging this with the existing modern theme is quite some work. We all do that in our spare time for fun. Therefore we don't emit any release schedule. -- OliverSiemoneit 2008-02-05 14:04:19

After trying the Mandarin theme in the ThemeMarket, I found the solution it has with a easily editable SideBar to be very nice idea. Would be nice if you consider something similar like that for the themes. -- PrebenR 2008-07-24 11:00:00
Help Needed
Basic theme development
August 2008: OliverSiemoneit and me (EduardoMercovich) have sadly accepted our impossibility to develop now this theme only by ourselves. If there are volunteers (and it seems that many people liked this theme) we can help, adjust, support, give feedback, and some (rare and precious) spare time to it. In case anyone is interested, please list your name here and we will organize to see how to collaborate. Thanks a lot for your help and understanding.

Of course, no problem. There is no complete work done because we started changing Modern, after that, modifying SimpleMenteTheme, and after seeing how difficult is to do that, tried to start from zero and thinking a MetaTheme to facilitate other people's job. After all, no one of this endeavors is complete or usable yet. As I see it, to do this succesfully, we should build a team: someone that knows well the moin core to see the best way to code it, someone from markup and CSS (I can help a little with that), and someone from the accesibility area. Details
We need a person who cares about the new tango like icon set for the theme. For a very promissing start see EasyToDo/DesignNewIconset. But also the smileys need to be replaced and a consistent look assured. Maybe someone can try to establish contact to a designer, who can help us doing some icons. This would be great.
